The Wind Storm of November 12, 2008
(What can happen when the wind gets strong over night in the middle of the roofing project.)

Remember the night of November 12th?
The wind & rain storm ripped off the tarps protecting the roof work in progress and led to leaks that soaked a third of the pews in the New Sanctuary and damaged the organ's pipe works, which will take up to a month to get correctly repaired.
Christopher Glenn, Minister of Music, happened to come in to practice, saw the damage and called in the reinforcements for help. Todd Peterson (Building Committee Chair), his daughter Emily, Pastor Wes, Alan Herbig, Roger & Abby Brockway and their daughter Sienna came in to to mop up 0r vacuum up the water, move the pew cushions to dry and survey the damage.
Crest NW was called and arrived to reattach the tarps for the weekend. They were scheduled to arrive on Monday to tar paper the roof.

The tarps ended up peeled away from the roof re-work in progress, leading to leaks in the New Sanctuary, damaging the workings of the pipe organ.

Todd Peterson, Building Committee Chair, and Pastor Wes, presenting their entry in our private Greenwood Modern Art contest, "Construction Tarp Hanging From Tree," across from the church's front door.

The "Joy" banner survived the wind & rain storm!!!!
